Based on an internet meme that originated from the youtuber ImJayStation faking his girlfriend's death to gain subscribers. There is a meme pic about "My dead girlfriend suddenly attacked me," that spread in China, which people have used to make funny videos. This, evidently, made the meme popular. After some time, the meme turned into a template of sorts: "The [dead something] suddenly attacked me." It's usually used to express seeing something again that has disappeared a long time go.
