Gone Are the Days of Youth is quoted from a poem by Liu Guo in the Song Dynasty. Which roughly translates to: Reeds sweep the river’s edge, Cold sands, pale currents flow. Two decades passed, I return to South Tower below. Under willows, the boat still loosely lies, Mid-Autumn nears with its silver glow. Yellow cranes once perched on the cliffs— Where now are those friends of old? The same hills and rivers, but sorrow they bestow. I’d buy osmanthus, and wine to share— Gone are the days of youth we know.
