Missing, extremely new, or very obvious to obtain.

An expression used of someone who is too involved in the details of a problem to look at the situation as a whole. Characters of shorter build used for this chive ponder about how they’re too short to see the large screen. The Chinese version, 成岭成峰, is probably a reference to a couplet from the poem 题西林壁 (On the Wall of the West Forest). The couplet is "横看成岭侧成峰，远近高低各不同。" and is roughly translated as, "From the front, it looks like a ridge, from the side a peak; from far or near, high or low, each view is different."
