Reference
A reference to Gödel's incompleteness theorems, two theorems in mathematical logic that demonstrate limitations in formal systems. It states that any consistent system capable of expressing arithmetic will contain true statements that are unprovable within that system, and cannot prove the consistency of the system. It basically means that there is no mathematic theory of everything. There is no unification of what is provable and what is true. What mathematicians can prove depends on their starting assumptions, not on any fundamental truth.
